BRISTOL FLORIST

LOCAL FLORISTS IN BRISTOL WITH SAME DAY DELIVERY

Belle de Jour was opened on a picturesque street in Clifton in 2005 by Kika Hedgecock. Kika’s passion for floristry began when she worked in Toulouse flower market during her studies, and after training in both Paris and London she relocated to Bristol and wanted to combine her knowledge and passion with local florists to create artistic, inventive bouquets and arrangements. As a member of BloomLocal these local florists use only ethically sourced, sustainable flowers in their creations, and also offer same day delivery in the city and surrounding areas. Each bouquet is handcrafted by experienced local florists, and delivered in water direct from the shop in the Mall, Clifton. This ensures that all the ethically sourced, sustainable flowers arrive as fresh as when they were hand cut by our local florists, and with no centralised warehouse or flower boxes used you can be sure that not only does this directly benefit the local community it also lessens the environmental impact of same day delivery. Independent local florists and same day delivery of ethically sourced, sustainable flowers are the essence of BloomLocal and we are delighted to have artisans like Kika and her team on board.

BRISTOL IS A CITY ON THE RISE WITH AN INDEPENDENT SPIRIT

Sitting on the banks of the River Avon and enveloped by the hills of South West England, Bristol is a city with a long history and a bright future. Renowned for its independent spirit the local community have created a unique identity and are passionate about culture and creativity.  The city even has its own community currency, the Bristol pound which is pegged to the Pound sterling. You can’t get much more independent than that! After large areas of Bristol were destroyed in World War II the city took the opportunity to utilise modern town planning to create the thriving, independent and creative centre it is today. Bristol was also the first British city to be named European Green Capital due to its innovative responses to the environmental challenges we are all facing, and its commitment to clean energy and role as a low carbon hub actually informed international policy at the UN climate change summit in Paris. Local artisans proliferate here, with chocolate making, wine bottling, porcelain and pottery being some of the industries Bristol is known for. Aircraft design and construction remains the largest industry in the area, but that hasn’t stopped the growth of successful, if small, local businesses. It is for that reason that we have teamed up with our local florists to provide some tips on where to eat, and the best things to see and do in Bristol.
